Two blocks inland was not very "beachy":

Apparently, they too were heading to the beach to watch the sunset:
These are for the fishing nets. This is still a working fishing town, in addition to a surfer town:
The old colorful fishing boats have been retired and lined up on the beach:

All this walking was making me hungry. (Actually, it was very little walking. But I did walk a fair amount earlier in the day.)
Dinner was at the Restaurante Katarina. I ordered "Legarto de porco preto":
Translation: literally: "Lizard black pig." It was more pig than lizard. It was strips of grilled pork. Not sure where the "lizard" part came in.
Dessert was panna cotta. topped with a berry compote. And all through the meal, the restaurant played techno-muzak versions of songs by the Rolling Stones and Madonna.
