The web-housed thoughts and statements of an attorney practicing employment law, fighting for justice for all Nevada workers, in Las Vegas, Nevada USA, the best city in America in which to practice law and the most exciting city in the Milky Way Galaxy. This was going to be a law blog, but it turned into a travel blog. A blog of my travels. And that's a better use of a blog in everybody's estimation.

Phot-o' the Day: Patsy Ann Statue; Juneau, Alaska
Meet Patsy Ann. She is a white bull terrier who was the "town dog" in Juneau, Alaska, in the 1930s. (In statue form, her white fur is the color grey metal.)
According to the signage next to the statue, although she was deaf, she had an uncanny knack for knowing when a steamship was about to dock. Whenever a steamship was about a half mile off shore, she would drop whatever she was doing and trot down to the town docks to greet the ship. She would know which berth the ship would tie down in, too, even if crowds were gathered at a different berth. She died in 1942 at the age of 12 or 13 and is buried at sea, in the Gastineau Canal leading into town. That's where she is gazing toward in statuary form.
