Phot-o' the Day: St. Anthony Chapel (the church with all the relics)

Exterior photography allowed. Interior? No.
Monday's Western Pennsylvania tourism was a visit to Saint Anthony's Chapel in the Deutschetown neighborhood of Pittsburgh. This beautiful church located in a non-descript neighborhood on the Northside of Pittsburgh houses the largest collection of Catholic relics in the world, outside of the Vatican.

The church is the home to more than 5,000 relics, all verified as authentic. Unfortunately, like many beautiful churches in the world, photography (even without a flash) is banned inside the church. So there are are no pictures of bone fragments. No pictures of the splinter from the True Cross or from the table used for the Last Supper.

It was well worth the visit, even if there is no photographic record of having gone inside.
