I've just concluded my first half century here on the earth. In honor and celebration of my 50th birthday, Luka, the proprietor of The "Garni Hotel Berc," presented me at check-in with a bottle of Slovenian chardonnay:
That was very nice. The accommodations here are very nice. Lots of blonde wood. Very alpine:
Slovenia is a very interesting place. It is very different from Croatia. Here's my observation, for what it's worth: In Slovenia, they speak a language very similar to Croatia. But culturally, it is like Austria. The people here look more Germanic/Alpine, blue eyes and sandy brown hair, much more fair than my Croat brethren and sister-en.
